Poultney’s Go-To Man Set to Retire

For more than three decades, Jonas Rosenthal has been a constant presence.

“He’s just there for everybody when he needs to be,” said Wayne Tracey, retired village public works superintendent. “He lives, sleeps and breathes this community.”

Rosenthal has served as town manager since 1985 and stepped in to fill the role of village manager in 1996. In addition to his role as manager, he also serves as the zoning administrator, dog wrangler, recreation director, traffic director and litter control — and that’s far from all.
